I often sit back and wonder why is the end of the semester so dog on stressful!!! Why are exams so hard!! Why are papers and exams always around the same time lol...I know this is college and everything but man, I be feeling like I will fall out at any given moment lol.

School is almost over?

Wow!! I can't believe that school is about to end. I am super excited about summer break, I can't wait to relax from homework, writing papers, studying for exams, sitting in class and everything else that comes along with going to school. I can't believe that next fall I will be a SOPHMORE in COLLEGE!!! That sounds so weird to me.

When I first got to college I thought that college was going to be all hard. Well thats the impressions that older people, (parents, teachers and everyone else) was giving me. College is now where near the torture that some people makes it seem. I think the only hard part about college is finding the time to do things. Other than that I dont see anything hard about it.

In high school, they used to say that college instructors do not care if you pass or fail, that may be true, but the teachers that I have gotten these past two semesters has been great. They seem so eager to help us learn. Or is that only because I'm a freshman lol.

I like most of my classes!! especially English...I guets to speak my mind and not get in trouble for it.

Well thats all I have to say for now

My Art Project

Ok, We have a class project to do in art. The topic of our project is "Death Rate Awareness" which will be focusing on the death rate here in Memphis. While we were figuring out the logistics and critical details for the project, the class ended up having a big discussion of why we should take race (black, white, asian, etc) out of the project. I understood what the student was trying to say, however, I think what she failed to realize is that if you are doing the rate of something no matter what it is that you are going to need statistics and since we are doing the death rate, the statistics are going to state the percentage of what race is dying from what and how many people of that race has died in that city and that year. I don't know if its just me but why does certain people only want to depict the good about everything. I mean seriously. Also the project is emphasizing on the murder in memphis. (I think thats what started the whole race debate.) If people haven't realize that the majority of the people that are being murdered are African Americans. You don't need statistics to tell you that, just watch the news and read the newspaper. But my point is, there is no way you can take race out of this project. How can you get around that?

Death Rate= Statistics= Percentage of how many people of different races are dying from different forms of death.

Can someone please let me know Im not the only one thinking this way

RCWS

This was due like a week ago...I think. But anyway this blog will be about the River City Writers Readings. When I first heard that we were assigned to go to readings I thought of NAP TIME!! However, when I finally went to to a RCWS reading, I found it to be quite intriguing and interesting. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.

The two RCWS readings that I attended both we're for Christine Keneally, Josh Prager and Stacy Sullivan. My favorite author out of those three was Stacy Sullivan. I think I liked Stacy's reading alot more because, hers seemed more realistic and unerving to me. Although all of the books are based on realistic events, I couldn't get into their stories. I think the reason the I could not get into Christine's reading was because I am really not interested in the evolution of language. I mean it is an intersting topic but personally I could really care less. I kind of liked Josh's story only because it was kind of humorous. I am really not into baseball and I did not have any idea who he was talking about in the story.

Wow!!

I just looked at the date on my last blog and noticed that I have been slacking a great deal with them. To tell you the truth I have just been forgetting about them. I always put "Do Blogs" on my to- do list, but never get around to doing them. I just don't think about them, mainly because Im usually doing other homework. When I looked at the date all I could say was "uh oh." I am seriously slipping. What do you do when its so much going on around you and you are trying to stay focused. Why are there so many distractions (lol). To tell you the truth I really haven't been on the computer that much lately. I guess that's why I kept forgetting them. Just a few minutes ago I looked at the drop box and noticed that I haven't been dropping my blogs in like I suppose to. OOPS!! SORRY WENDY!!!!! :). I'm praying that we can get some more extra credit or something just to be on the safe side if my grade isn't up to par. I need to get on my SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! (U figure it out lol)
